Angie Jones
The figures are symbols of a passage instead of literal interpretations. Jones’ follows the philosophies of Naturalism and American Realism in her paintings. She plays daily life scenarios against backgrounds of dreams and fantasy. Her primary content and philosophical influences are Robert Henri and Joseph Campbell. Regarding style and technique she notes Diego Velasquez, Malcolm T. Liepke, John Singer Sargent, Lucian Freud and Julie Heffernan as influences as well. She creates because she has to, or she gets a little crazed.
Angela graduated a Presidential Scholar from Atlanta College Of Art with a B.F.A in Drawing and a minor in Electronic Arts. She left her pencils and paint brush behind for a mouse to work as an animator for movies, commercials, television and video games. Angela has contributed her talents in Computer Animation and Visual Effects for the past 15 years on movies like PAN’S LABYRINTH, XMEN 2, STUART LITTLE 2, and many others. Having served on the Advisory Board for the LA Film School and written her third book on animation called Thinking Animation, Angela’s leadership qualities and passion for animation are renown in the industry.
