About Dan Curry:
Award winning artist Dan Curry is known for his work in visual effects and title design for the entertainment industry. A veteran of over 100 feature films, 40 television productions, special venue projects, and interactive games he is perhaps best known for his visionary work on the various incarnations of STAR TREK earning him 7 Emmys. a Visual Effects Society Award, and 3 International Monitor Awards. Fine Arts accolades include a New York Times Art Critics Award and a Cape Cod Art Association Award.
Dan’s background also includes teaching Fine Arts and Theatre on the university level and bio-medical illustration. After college he volunteered for the US Peace Corps and built small dams and bridges in rural Thailand. Dan remained in Asia doing freelance film, art, architecture, and production design. He received a commission from the King of Thailand as production designer for the annual Royal Ball. Exposure to many cultures has been a continuing source of inspiration for his work.
Dan holds a B.A. in Fine Arts with a minor in Theatre, and an M.F.A. in Film and Theatre. Dan is a member of the Directors Guild of America, The American Society of Cinematographers, The Producers Guild of America, The Art Directors Guild, The Visual Effects Society, and is a founding member of the International CG Society. He is current Governor of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Visual Effects Peer Group.
Dan is currently Visual Effects Supervisor for the Warner Brothers production CHUCK.
