    diana_walczak.jpgAbout Diana Walczak:

Diana Walczak was asked by Sony Music in 1994 to design an album cover for Michael Jackson’s “HIStory” album. Because Michael Jackson had been very picky in the past, requiring artists to repeatedly go back to the drawing board, Sony chose to have a 3D computer graphics company build a marble statue database in the event that Michael would want to see it from different angles. With the help of photographs, the sculpture was built in one week. The technology at the time required Diana to spend 2 weeks applying fine tape lines to the sculpture marking it for 3D digitizing. Michael finally decided on the album image above in 1995 when the album came out.

Diana is artistic director and co-founder of Synthespian Studios, a computer animation company in Hollywood and Massachusetts providing digital visual effects and character animation for feature films including “Stargate,” “X-Men” and “X2: X-Men United”, commercials, and theme park attractions including Universal’s “The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man” and Busch Gardens’ “Corkscrew Hill.” She has published “Encompassing Education,” a paper on the topic of future education technology for the U.S. Department of Commerce initiative, “Visions 2020.” She is currently developing and all-CG stereoscopic feature film.
