About Daniel Abramovich:
Daniel’s work is influenced by everything from Voodoo and anthropology to wildlife, urban life and subterranean mole people. His inimitable style is a product of his hypersensitivity and insatiable curiosity. He plies his craft across numerous media. Whether digital, acrylic, film, ink or music, the constant for Abramovich is a sort of pleasurable aggression, which is perhaps most apparent in his painting’s severe line work, natural drips and bold colours. His latest collection features a series of red ink wildlife and portrait drawings as well as mixed medium paintings.
In 2006, Daniel was sought out by Lamar to rebrand and design their new line of skateboards in collaboration with artist/designer Leon Vymenets. Daniel’s works have been exhibited in Toronto and New York and featured on allmaple.com - one of Canada’s hottest online arts and culture magazines.
In addition to his work as a fine artist and illustrator Abramovich is also an accomplished Digital Compositor. Over the past 9 years he has worked for several prestigious film and animation studios including Core Feature Animation, Nelvana and several boutique VFX houses. In 2007, he moved from Toronto to New York to work as a Senior Visual Effects Artist at Brainstorm Digital where he conceptualized and executed visual effects for major directors like Ethan and Joel Coen, Ron Howard, Jim Jarmusch, Charlie Kaufman, and Jonathan Demme to name a few. Currently Daniel is a Stereoscopic TD at Blue Sky Studios.
