    About Eric J. Robertson:

Eric Robertson’s search for identity explores themes of identity and isolation. Robertson’s images focus on people going about their daily lives – covertly capturing brief portraits of normal activity an unguarded behavior.  We see truth in their faces, but the complete narrative is hidden.

Robertson has been working with traditional photographic materials for most of his career, but recently, has discovered a new method to achieve his vision. Shooting with color Infrared digital cameras, images are converted to black and white, then printed on traditional archival fiber based silver gelatin paper.

As a seasoned Visual Effects Supervisor and VFX Producer on over 50 feature films, Robertson’s visual style and technical expertise has been recognized and harnessed by such notable filmmakers as The Coen
Brothers, Sam Mendes, Jim Jarmusch, Charlie Kaufman, Ron Howard, Neil Jordan, Tony Gilroy, and Jonathan Demme.

Robertson is well versed in spectacular effects for thrillers like “Resident Evil: Apocalypse”, “Dawn of the Dead”, and “Silent Hill”, as well as story-driven supporting effects found in “Burn After Reading”, “The DaVinci Code”, and the upcoming “Synecdoche, New York” and “Rachel Getting Married”. Robertson’s title sequence for “The Brave One” earned praise for his cinematography and design.

Robertson lives with his wife and children in New York City.
