  • About the Show

    A little history…
In 2006, visual effects artist Patrick Finley organized a fine art gallery event called Visual Amalgam featuring the personal art of visual effects professionals.

Patrick, a fine artist himself, wanted to provide these talented individuals an opportunity to show their own painting, sculpture and photography in a gallery setting. Over fifteen artists participated in the event, many of which had never previously shown their work publically. The show was a big success and over 500 people attended the first Visual Amalgam show at the Infusion Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles.

    Visual Amalgam II

Evan Jacobs, a VFX Supervisor who had participated in the first show, approached Patrick about organizing a sequel event. Pat agreed it was time for Visual Amalgam II. This time around, they wanted to introduce some new blood and open the event up to a broader group of artists in the film industry.

This year’s venue will be the James Gray Gallery at Bergamot Station, Southern California’s largest art gallery complex in the heart of Santa Monica.

The event will provide the public with a rare opportunity to see some exceptionally talented film industry pros exhibit their personal work at one of the most prestigious art locations in the city.
